Research notes
Rod Monochromacy: rods dominate vision while cones do not contribute to chromatic perception. Vision is essentially grayscale, dimmer, and lower acuity. Strict mode maps directly to luminance Y; blue-tinge adds a small S-axis bias for perceptual matching; enhanced preserves local contrast for demo visibility (not research-strict).
